Besan Halwa
I'm feeling low and despondent with all that is happening around the world. Everything is so uncertain, trying to keep our spirits up but some days are a struggle. Staying indoors now for almost a month has been challenging, although grateful about all the blessings.
Just to cheer myself and keep my mind from all the conundrum and keeping hope and faith strong, decided to make this easy but finger licking delicious Besan Halwa.
This traditional North Indian Sweet is absolutely a keeper and can be made with such simple ingredients that is easily available in our kitchen pantry
Recipe:
Serves : 6
Level: Easy
Prep Time : 5 mins
Cook Time: 20mins
Ingredients:
1cup Besan
3/4cup ghee
1cup sugar
1cup water
1tsp cardamom powder
1tbsp slivered almonds
Method:
Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add the Magikcook Besan and stir.
Fry the besan for about 10 to 15mins until the besan gives off a nice nutty aroma, stirring all the time, so that it does not burn.
Meanwhile, place the water and sugar in a pan and put on heat. Bring to a boil until the sugar melts completely.
Add the liquid sugar and water to the besan and stir vigorously, so that there are no lumps.
Add the cardamom powder and stir really well.
